New Pedestrian Tunnel

New Pedestrian Tunnel

Tunnel Event blog

A new tunnel connecting The Village at Mendota Heights to Dakota County parks and trails will be opening to pedestrians and cyclists on October 27, 2017. The underground walkway begins on the north side of MN-110 near the 110/Dodd intersection. The timing of the project is ideal for the new Mendota Plaza expansion project on the south side of MN-110.

The welcome addition to the neighborhood will allow nearby residents easy access to yoga, dining, and shopping while enjoying their active lifestyle. No need to start the car because  walkers, bikers, runners, and rollers can go back and forth to The Village for their morning latte and lunchtime pizza.

A Ribbon Cutting celebration begins at 11:30 am and will be held rain or shine at the north side of the trail. Part of the ceremony will be the announcement of the new tunnel’s name. The City of Mendota Heights is holding a contest and you can join in the fun. Get more info>>
