Company Background...

Mike Cashill and Alan Spaulding started @ Home Apartments in 1992 when they bought their first 14-unit apartment building on Grand Avenue in Saint Paul. This was the beginning of a new company, which today provides a wide array of rental housing. Currently, @ Home Apartments owns and manages more than 3,000 apartments located in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area, Saint Cloud, and Kansas City, Kansas.

Management Philosophy...

Starting out as a team without employees, Mike and Alan learned all aspects of property management and maintenance early on. This expertise has helped them to recognize opportunity, implement management and maintenance philosophies, and to efficiently oversee building operations and staff.

@ Home Apartments acquires properties where we can add value by making improvements to the property or operations. We then make physical and aesthetic improvements to the property to attract residents who appreciate and value a well cared for home. Finally, our staff continually strives to provide clean, quiet, well-maintained apartments to each and every resident, while offering excellent customer service and attention to detail, to promote long-term, satisfied residents.

Where We Are Headed...

@ Home Apartments is always looking for opportunities in the rental housing market. In the past we have capitalized on opportunities such as the resurgence of city living and the increased popularity of classic turn of the century buildings. We also commonly choose to update vintage buildings to compete with newer properties. Recently, we built a new apartment building in response to a high level of housing demand in our market. We have expanded to new markets, using proven ideas, as opportunities for new acquisitions in our original market have diminished. Even with continued growth, we strive to optimize performance of our existing portfolio by maintaining our high level of quality customer service, and attention to detail.
